Adrian
Cecil Watson. Adrian C. "Ace" Watson, born to Theo Amson and
Sidney Monroe Watson in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on July 1, 1925, passed away
March, 10. 2008. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two
grandchildren, Brian and Eric Watson. He is survived by his wife of 40
years, Berta, a brother, Sidney (Katie) Watson, sisters, Dorothy Camp,
Lois (Paul) MacMillian, Meredith (Elzie) Gilliam, his sons, Mark Kenneth
(Elva) Watson, Guy Douglas (Asia) Deck, Allen Pierce (Aimee) Watson, all
of Tucson and Scott Carson (Stephanie) Watson of San Diego, CA.
Grandchildren, Greysen Weaver, Mary, Becky, Todd, Bryce, Marley and Wrex
Watson, Adrian "Ace", Carley and Gavin Deck, all of Tucson,
James, Adam and Rhett Watson of San Diego and Ryan (Christi) Watson of
Henderson, Nevada, great-grandchildren, Conner, Cooper and Isabelle, and
beloved daughters-in-law, Lisa Mirek, Joyce (Fred) Houy and Dawn Watson,
who all grieve and celebrate his exemplary life of love, tenderness and
generosity. He joined the Navy in 1943 and served as a yeoman, on the
AKA-2 Transport, USS Procyon, in the Southern Invasion of France. He was
stationed at Norfolk, VA., where he met and married Elizabeth Stapins, who
passed away in 1967. They had two children, Robert Cecil and Mark Kenneth.
He moved to Tucson in 1958 and was a building contractor and owner of A.
C. Watson Construction Company, Bomark Construction Company and State-Wide
Home Improvement until he retired in 1977. He got a second chance at
happiness when he married Berta, and for the next 40 years they raised
babies and traveled and enjoyed life, ending up in 2001 living in Hawaii
for three years but returned to Tucson in 2004. After that, the apartments
that he owned took up most of his time. Visitation Friday, March 14, 2008
at 10:00 a.m., and Funeral Services 11:00 a.m., at EVERGREEN MORTUARY.
Burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
